Wales marked St David’s Day in Montréal with a reception celebrating Welsh culture and strengthening the connections between Wales and Québec.

The event coincided with a visit to Canada by a delegation of Welsh companies on a trade mission, creating an opportunity to introduce the businesses to contacts and further develop relationships across the region.

The reception brought together a wide range of guests including business contacts, members of the Welsh diaspora, stakeholders and alumni. The gathering provided an opportunity to celebrate Welsh culture while fostering meaningful connections with those who support and promote Wales internationally.

Guests were also encouraged to carry the Welsh spirit forward by taking part in a “random act of Welshness”, celebrating the little things that make a difference on St David's Day and helping to promote Wales within their own networks.

Representatives from the Scottish Government, the UK delegation to ICAO and the British High Commission in Ottawa were also in attendance.

The event helped facilitate introductions for the Welsh companies visiting Canada and celebrated the already strong ties between Wales and Québec.
