Having started as a simple series of workshops across Wales, Merched yn Gwneud Miwsig has evolved and developed to become one of Wales' leading music schemes for women.
The aim of the project is to promote visibility and opportunities for women in music in Wales through education, support, empowerment and recognition.
To celebrate that the Welsh women's national team, our girls, have reached the Ewros for the first time ever, Merched yn Gwneud Miwsig have put together some playlists to soundtrack your watch parties!
So grab your mates and join us in music to celebrate this historic moment!
Indie Playlist
If indie bangers is the genre for you, this list is full of iconic women who fill stages with heavy noise, from Adwaith's catchy tunes with their new anthem 'Aros Am Y Chwiban', to one of the most influential artists' for young women from the 00s, Swci Boscawen, to new artists such as Taran and Buddug. This playlist is perfect for a good sing along at half time!
Chill Playlist
It’s important to take a moment to reflect on this historic moment, and what better way to relax than a playlist full of chill and enchanting music. Although the mood has changed, the great music continues! From the classic 'Cwm Hiraeth' by Heather Jones, Mared Williams and Adjua with their velvety voices, perfect beats by Anelog and Serol Serol, these are the perfect songs to relax after a fiery game!
Hwyl Playlist
But we must remember that this moment is a big party, and we as a country need to get behind the women of Wales. So grab your football shirts, put the games on and when the final whistle blows, the party will continue! This playlist is full of bangers, from Ani Glass’ pop perfection, to Aleighcia Scott's reggae, the majestic anthems of Gwenno and Eden, and for the electronic fans there are enough songs to keep the party going.
