Looking to study in the UK? Study in Wales in 2017

It's decision time for those hoping to start university in 2017 and an increasing number of students are studying overseas. The UK is a popular choice, with thousands of students from across the world coming to Wales. Each year we welcome learners from over 170 countries, including the USA, India and China.

So why Wales? There are a number of reasons.

  • Students tell us that as well as offering academic excellent, Wales is a safe and friendly place with loads to do.
  • The cost of living here is relatively inexpensive compared to many other parts of the UK. There are campuses in a variety of locations, including vibrant cities, coastal locations and rural settings.
  • When you study in Wales you’ll have the opportunity to explore our beautiful landscapes. It’s also an ideal base from which to discover other parts of the UK – fly to Scotland or taking the train to London is easy.
  • For some students, English is not their first language and our universities are very supportive. There seems to be a myth that you have to speak Welsh to live or study in Wales – you don’t, but there are plenty of opportunities to learn if you want to. Did you know English is spoken by almost everyone in Wales and Welsh by around 19% of the population?

Take a look at the Study in Wales website for information on what Wales has to offer.
