To celebrate Wales Smithsonian Cymru 2009 the Welsh Assembly
Government invites you to come to the National Mall in Washington DC to take some great photos of Welsh people, events, and activities, and post your best shots at http://www.flickr.com/groups/1101583@N25/ or email us at photocompetition@wales.gsi.gov.uk by July 6th.
The competition will be judged by celebrity photographer Cambridge Jones (http://www.cambridgejones.com/). The lucky winner will be invited to help Cambridge take a portrait shot of a friend or family member of the winner. This will take place in Washington at a time convenient to both Cambridge and the winner. The winner will receive a framed copy of the photo signed by Cambridge Jones.
Contest Rules
-Only one submission per person
-You must be at least 18 years of age or over to compete
-You must reside permanently in the Greater Washington area
-Please do not post any irrelevant or inappropriate photography
-The judges decision is final and there will be one winner only
-Closing time for entries is 12:00 (midnight) on July 5 2009
-The Welsh Assembly Government reserves the right to use the winning photography for publicity purposes and the winner must agree to have his/her photo taken with Cambridge Jones for media outreach
-The Welsh Assembly Government cannot be held responsible for any material posted on this site or for any external actions or events arising as a result of this online competition
-The winner will be notified by email on July 13 2009. If there is no response from the winner by midnight on July 20 2009 the prize will be awarded to the runner-up selected by Cambridge Jones.
