Venues

We have hundreds of music and entertainment venues across Wales both big and small. Here are just a few of them:

 

Wales Millennium Centre

The Wales Millennium Centre is home to the Welsh National Opera. It is one of the largest theatres in the world and hosts ballet, theatre, opera and dance, all under one roof.
 


Motorpoint Arena (formerly Cardiff International Arena)

Opened by local legend Dame Shirley Bassey in 1993, the Motorpoint Arena has hosted top international acts such as Sir Tom Jones, Elton John, Iron Maiden, The Killers, Oasis, Kings of Leon and Lady Gaga to name just a few.
 


St David’s Hall

St David’s Hall in Cardiff plays host to jazz, soul, pop, rock, dance, children’s theatre, ballet, musicals and stand-up comedy. It is also home to the biannual BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.


Venue Cymru

Venue Cymru is located on the promenade in Llandudno on the beautiful North Wales coast. The large arts venue has a theatre, conference centre and arena and hosts a variety of entertainment, concerts and events. 
 


Llangollen Pavilion

Home to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod of Music and Dance and top acts at the Llangollen Comedy Festival, the Pavillion has entertainment, concerts and comedy all year round.
 


Clwb Ifor Bach

Commonly known as ‘The Welsh Club’, Clwb is a great place to see unsigned and local talent in Cardiff. Clwb Ifor Bach has also been venue of choice for many big acts such as Super Furry Animals, Lost Prophets and Bullet for My Valentine for more intimate gigs.


Central Station Venue

Based in Wrexham, North Wales, Central Station Venue has regular gigs both day and night and has an impressive list of previous artists. Biffy Clyro, The Kooks, Robert Plant, Grandmaster Flash, INME and The Blackout are just a few.
 


The Factory

This dedicated live music venue, set in the heart of the Rhondda Valleys, provides regular gigs in a unique and historic building. The Factory, formerly known as 'The Pop Factory' was previously host to the TV show of the same name which launched the career of American X Factor presenter Steve Jones. 
 


Chapter Arts Centre

Chapter is one of Europe's largest and most dynamic arts centres with cinemas, theatres, exhibition spaces, studios and an international reputation for excellence, innovation and collaboration. It presents over 1000 events a year including theatre, dance, art and music.
 

 

Many of our sporting arenas have also hosted concerts and gigs such as the Millennium Stadium, the Liberty Stadium and Cardiff City Stadium.
