Where is Wales
Wales is part of Britain and the United Kingdom.
It's situated to the west of England and is around 170 miles (256 km) long and 60 miles (96 km) wide. It covers just over 8,000 square miles (20,720 km²) - that's about the same size as Massuchusetts in the USA or half the size of Switzerland.

We have our own international airport just outside the city’s capital, Cardiff in south east Wales. A number of airlines offer European and international flights into Cardiff including KLM and bmibaby.
The nearest London airport is Heathrow. It takes about 2 hours to get to Cardiff from there, travelling by motorway all the way.
Manchester airport is even closer to Wales – it’s about 90 minutes’ drive from Llandudno on the north Wales coast.
Liverpool, Birmingham and Bristol airports are also within easy reach of Wales.
We’re only two hours from central London if you take the train. This is a good option if you’re travelling to the UK via the channel tunnel.
Regular ferries link west and north Wales with Ireland.
