Welcome to Paralympic Teams

It’s been a fantastic couple of weeks of sport, but the Olympics Games is now over. On Friday there was a Silver in Sailing for Hannah Mills and her partner Saskia Clark in the 470 Class. Also on Friday Team GB's Women's Hockey team, that included Welsh born Sarah Thomas on the squad, gained a Bronze medal.

One of the highlights of the last day was Fred Evans winning a Silver medal in Welterweight Boxing, the highest Olympic medal for Boxing that Wales has won to date.

Fred’s win brings the medal tally to seven for Wales, with three Golds, two Silvers and one Bronze being won in the games, the most successful games for over 100 years.

We now look forward to more great sport at the Paralympic Games, which take place from 29 August until 9 September. There will be 38 Welsh competitors taking part in the Paralympic Games.

We welcome Paralympic teams as they train in Wales ahead of the Paralympic Games. We hope all they enjoy their stay in Wales, with great sporting facilities. Teams include Australia, China, New Zealand and the Oceanic islands.
