Three Medals for Wales
What a great sporting week it was, for such a small nation Team GB has done so well! With all of the Olympic medals being made in Wales at the Royal Mint, we’re pleased to see some coming home.
Amongst the medal winners was Wrexham born Rower Chris Bartley who bagged the first Welsh medal. The Lightweight Men's Four gained a silver in a nail biting race.
This was followed by a gold medal from Cyclist Geraint Thomas and a second gold for Wales from Rower Tom James MBE. Postboxes have been painted gold to celebrate the success, with one in Cardiff for Geraint and in Wrexham for Tom.
Great efforts by all our competitors, well done to all of you and much to look forward to for the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
There is still much to play for in London 2012. We look forward to seeing how Dai Greene and Sarah Thomas do today.
For more information on Welsh Competitors see our webpage and for news on how they are doing see the Sports Wales news.
