During the winter months, there’s nothing better than wrapping up warm and going for a walk in the Welsh countryside. Our National Parks are popular with walkers all year round and the landscape changes with the seasons.
Other bracing walks can be had around the coast. Did you know Wales is the only country in the world with a path right around its coast? There’s nothing like a bit of sea air to liven you up in the winter months. It will set you up for a hearty meal in one of our pubs or restaurants. If you'd enjoy making your own, check our recipes for warming dishes such as cawl and roast lamb.
If you want an organised walk The Ramblers have plenty of routes to choose from. The annual Festival of Winter Walks starts a few days before Christmas through to early January. The walks are of varying levels of difficulty. Walks include 3-mile strolls and more strenuous mountain walking.
In February the Crickhowell Walking Festival takes place.
