Chef de Mission
In Wales, we know that it takes a whole team of people to help an athlete reach their full potential. Professor Nicola Phillips is a prime example of just one position that supports our athletes. She was appointed as the Chef de Mission for Commonwealth Games Wales, a very prestigious title. Professor Phillips, leads the Welsh team of athletes, coaches and support staff and has drawn upon her experiences with the Welsh and British Weightlifting teams, professional rugby union, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. Undoubtedly as an international specialist in the field of sports injury management, Professor Phillips brings a wealth of experience of supporting athletes at national and international events. She follows in the footsteps of Team Wales Chief Executive Chris Jenkins, who had the same role at the Delhi Games in 2010.
